It’s been very gratifying over the last several years to watch teacher John Nepomuceno and his students at Oakland’s Fremont High School explore the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its implications in their daily lives. We appreciate their enthusiastic spirit and commitment to human rights.

Now, it’s time for their annual assembly celebrating the UDHR. We’d love to have you join us there. Says Nepomuceno:

“We welcome you to attend the Sixth Annual Universal Declaration of Human Rights Assembly of Fremont High School, titled “I AM,” an extension of our #IAMFREMONT campaign, a celebration of Human Rights in East Oakland, and a Unity Rally for all Fremont High School students and community members, especially in the face of extraordinary struggle and uncertainty of the school’s future. The Assembly will include performances from talented Fremont High School students, and will focus squarely on the Human Rights issues that have affected East Oakland youth.”

The assembly will take place in the gymnasium at Fremont High School, 4610 Foothill Blvd., Oakland, CA. The assembly will start promptly at 2:30 p.m. and end promptly at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, February 20. Please check in at the office by around 2 p.m. and proceed to the gym. We look forward to seeing you there!
